Jourdains runs the best babysitting service in Farnham and the surrounding areas.
All of our babysitters are vetted by us. Babysitters are interviewed and their references are thoroughly checked. Whilst not all the babysitters have a current CRB check, they all have relevant childcare experience. Each babysitter is chosen very carefully by the Jourdains team and most are tried and tested by Natasha’s own children!
Babysitting Rates
All bookings are for a minimum of 3 hours. The families should pay the babysitter directly on the night. Hourly rates for babysitters are:
Sunday-Thursday: £6 per hour, £7 per hour after midnight
Friday-Saturday: £6.50 per hour, £7 per hour after midnight
Meeting a new babysitter: Jourdains suggests that if you have younger children and the babysitter has not been to you before, that you book the babysitter 30 minutes earlier than required. This ensures there is enough time for the babysitter to become acquainted with your children and vice versa.
Requesting a particular babysitter: If a family request a particular babysitter, every effort will be made to accommodate this. However, no guarantee can be made as our babysitters often work for a number of families.
Booking before 6pm: These are classed as Nanny bookings and will be charged as such. Please refer to our 'Nannies & Flexible Childcare' page for the appropriate fees.
Short notice bookings: A short notice booking is on that is made within 48 hours of the time that a babysitter is required. Jourdains will endeavor to find a family a babysitter in these circumstances, however, the more notice we have, the better!
Cancellations: Should a family wish to cancel a booking within 24 hours of the time the babysitter is required, a £15 charge will be payable to the babysitter.
Non-Members: may use the babysitting service on an ad-hoc basis. A one-off fee of £15 will be charged per booking.
Jourdains Babysitting Service
The Jourdains Babysitting Service is changing.....we are improving our service to make things more efficient for our families. Please see below for more details.
NEW FAMILIES
- The current system of buying 6 credits for £30 will no longer be applicable to new families after 1st February 2012.
- From this date, a new quarterly standing order service will be available to new families joining our babysitting service.
EXISTING FAMILIES
- Will continue on the old system, until the family have used up their remaining babysitting credits.
- Once all credits have been used, existing families will go onto the new standing order system, if they wish to continue being a member of the Jourdains babysitting service.
How It Works
Joining Fee: In order to use the Babysitting Service, there is a one-off joining fee of £45.
This does not apply to existing members.
Once a family joins Jourdains, you are entitled to use any of our services in the future.
Membership Fee: Once the initial joining fee has been paid, families then pay a quarterly membership fee of £45 in order to use the service. We ask that families set up a quarterly standing order for this payment.
Entitlement: The quarterly membership fee entitles families to unlimited use of our babysitting service. This works out at just £15 per month for as many babysitting bookings as you like!
Payments: The first 'quarter' will start on 1st April. We understand that families will join Jourdains at different times throughout the year. Therefore, families joining the new babysitting service before a quarter will be asked to pay the following fees:
Joining the service between 1st-14th of a month = £15 fee for that month
Joining the service between 15th-31st of a month = £7.50 for half a month
These fees will be applied for subsequent months, until the beginning of a new quarter is reached, when the full fee of £45 will be applicable and paid by standing order.
Standing Orders: Payments must reach the Jourdains bank account on the 1st of each quarter.
Standing orders can be set up either with your bank directly or with online banking, both of which are very easy to do. By setting up a quarterly standing order payment, you no longer have the worry of counting credits and making one-off payments, all this is done for you and you can use the babysitting service as many times as you like.
